Nur African Tours is a tour operating company committed to connecting our people to Africa as a form of healing for Black Muslims living in the West.

The numbers don't add up. We are often told that the number of enslaved African Muslims who were kidnapped and sold to the West was insignificant. When we know it has been well-documented that the majority of those forced into chattel slavery were Muslim. They were forced to abandon their deen, language, and lineage.

Understanding your ancestry might help you feel more confident in your own skin and feel like you are truly part of something larger than yourself. This will go a long way towards a peace of mind -- the feelings of inferiority will leave you and a sense of pride and honor enters.

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Learn your lineages to solidify your family ties. Verily, keeping family ties causes love among the kinship, enriches the wealth, and increases the lifespan.”

Knowing who you are and where you come from brings about baraka (blessings). Not knowing restricts you from what is your divine right! Many of us come from broken homes, grew up poor, don't know what love is, and have a short life span...
